RAM Was an Easy Decision

I shudder to think where costs would be now without having RAM Tracking installed on our vans.  We knew having tracking would have lots of cost savings for our business but it was important to ensure we had the right tracking system. We saw various systems and RAM was by far the best system; it’s clear and simple to use, we were very pleased with the cost and everybody in the sales team kept in touch with us before and were happy to answer any questions we had. We knew from this that we would become a valued customer at RAM and we were not wrong.

Control & Peace of Mind

As RAM Tracking is internet based, everybody in the office has access to it and can utilise the system to ensure we are getting the most from it. We use the various reports available to verify the workers time sheets and to ensure the vans haven’t been used privately on an evening or weekend. These reports are in a simple easy to read format and they are available right back to 2008 when we first had the tracking installed! Having the live side of the system is great; it gives us the exact whereabouts of our vehicles and we can see when they have arrived at a job. Before we had RAM installed the guys used to come to the yard every morning before setting off to a job, which as we are electrical contractors could be anywhere in the country. This wasted a lot of time and money as we pay them on an hourly basis, now the guys can go straight to the job and we can pay them from when they arrive.

Financial Savings

With the price of fuel ever increasing having RAM Tracking has been one of the best business decisions we have made. We have saved at least 10% on our wage bills, we can now ensure there is no over claimed over time and make sure their time sheets are correct. We have also saved at least 20% on our fuel spend; this has just been through eliminating private use of the vehicles and ensuring they are taking the most efficient route to a job. The RAM system also provides proof to the HMRC that the vans are not used privately which means the guys are exempt from the private mileage tax. Other benefits since having RAM installed have been an increase in productivity and the security aspects of knowing exactly where are vehicles are.

Summary

Initially our workers were sceptical and saw tracking as a ‘Big Brother’ type of device; we don’t use it like that though. I believe that if they have nothing to hide then they should not mind that the tracking is there. We have to move with the times and RAM has saved us so much money which we have been able to reinvest back into the business that taking on RAM Tracking has made a big difference to the company! I now have greater control of my workforce and outgoings and would definitely recommend RAM to any business thinking of implementing tracking.
